HTC is one of the only major mobile brands that has not released a wearable yet, despite a smartwatch from the company oft mooted. Indeed, it is widely known that HTC was actually on the brink of launching its first smartwatch two years ago but cancelled the product as the company did not see huge growth in wearables. However, apparently now is the right time to enter the market as HTC is rumored to be launching the One Watch.
HTC’s stance on the wearable market two years ago was arguably correct, these products have still not exploded even with the largest smartphone brands in the world making smartwatches. However, most companies are getting a foothold and HTC could be left behind even if this is still a nascent market.
The so-called One Watch is expected to make its debut at the Mobile World Conference (MWC) in Barcelona at the end of February next year. The information was posted by top-notch tipster, @evleaks, but even so, considering HTC’s history with flirting with us over wearables we will consider this a cautious rumor.
